    Does your fence need some sprucing up? Make the most of warmer, sunnier weather and take care of routine fence maintenance. Check out these tips. ?Clean: Many fences can be washed with your garden hose. It’s also a good idea to clean your fence by hand with a rag and a mild detergent solution. For tough stains, you may need to use a toothbrush or sponge. ?Inspect: Identify areas that will need special care.     Protect exposed tree roots by mulching around the root area. A 2 – 4 inch layer of mulch protects the roots and creates a good growing environment. It’s common to plant grass all the way up against the tree trunk, but when that happens the grass and tree compete for water and nutrients.     Meet our Lincoln County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company Scholarship Recipients Amanda Finnerty Finnerty (pictured to the left) recently graduated from Homeschool and will be continuing her education at Hannibal LaGrange University. Finnerty will be pursuing Graphic Design with a Minor in Business Administrations. She hopes to start her own business and work for smaller, non profit organizations. Hailey King King (pictured to the right) recently graduated from Elsberry High School. This fall, she plans to attend Culver Stockton College to study Nursing.
