Does your fence need some sprucing up? Make the most of warmer, sunnier weather and take care of routine fence maintenance. Check out these tips.

?Clean: Many fences can be washed with your garden hose. It’s also a good idea to clean your fence by hand with a rag and a mild detergent solution. For tough stains, you may need to use a toothbrush or sponge.
?Inspect: Identify areas that will need special care. Be on the lookout for crooked fence posts, rusted iron, or warping wood.
?Repair: If you do find some damages repair what you can, and consider calling a fencing professional for areas of large concern.
?Remove Rust: For metal fencing, carefully remove any rust that may have formed with a steel wool scrubbing pad or piece of sandpaper.
?Apply Protectant: Apply wax to iron fencing to prevent rusting, or use a weatherproof stain to help extend the life of your wooden fence.
