125 Years of Dedication, Precision, and Purpose

A Message from Our CEO

March 21, 2026, marked our Annual Meeting and the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Lincoln County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. We come together not just to mark a date, but to celebrate 125 years of dedication, innovation, and shared purpose.

From a small team with aspiring dreams in 1900 to a thriving organization today, our story is one of resilience and passion. Through the years, our company has withstood key milestones and overcome challenges in every decade, every year, each month, and occasionally even day by day.

Fast forward to the present, we have achieved our founders’ vision, growing from approximately 94 original policyholders to 2,249 policyholders. While this may not seem like a large gap over 125 years, it was done with critical precision.

Another key achievement has been expanding our reach from within Lincoln County to adjoining counties, and within the past eight years, across the State of Missouri. This was not only a financial decision but one that allowed us to spread our area of risk beyond local county borders. When a catastrophe occurs, it is essential that it does not impact the only area where we hold policies, as that could significantly affect an insurance underwriting company such as ours.

Growth in the insurance industry goes beyond policy numbers. It is a multifaceted effort that requires a meticulous and deliberate approach to every aspect of our business. It includes attention to detail in underwriting property, managing operating expenses, maintaining strong customer relationships, and overseeing financial performance.

Precision is not about being overly cautious. It is a calculated and well-informed method to minimize losses, avoid unnecessary risks, and maximize outcomes. This is reflected in programs such as our inspection process.

Most importantly, we recognize our team members and partners who embody the company’s values as a key ingredient to our long-term success. Their attention to detail, positive attitude, and consistent effort continue to make a meaningful impact on our company.

  • Tyler Turnbull, Assistant Manager and Office Manager, has taken on responsibilities that enhance both his knowledge and growth within the industry and our office
  • Jill Dunavant, Inspections Specialist and Claims Manager, has developed a strong understanding of our underwriting guidelines and policy language, and her attention to detail, work ethic, and positive attitude have made a significant difference.
  • Makenzie Steffens joined our team as a billing clerk and CSR and has expanded her role to include processing renewals, endorsements, and new business, demonstrating a strong willingness to learn and grow.

This embodiment of dedication and integrity also resides in our agency team.

  • Cathy Filsinger brings nearly 17 years of experience, serving as Senior Agent, Supervisor, and Agent Assistant.
  • Jeff Davis joined in 2019 with extensive industry knowledge and continues to strengthen client relationships through his understanding of our policies and underwriting guidelines.
  • Alyssa White serves as Agent Assistant and Marketing Manager, providing essential support that enhances productivity, organization, and efficiency across the agency.
  • Micajah Goins recently accepted the role of agent, bringing valuable industry experience as he begins his work with our team here in Troy.

I extend my sincere appreciation to our entire team for their commitment, collaboration, and the role each person plays in our continued success.

Professionalism remains a priority within both our company and agency. Whether a policyholder receives correspondence, calls our office, or stops in for a visit, we want them to feel confident in the trust they have placed in us.

In addition to our team, our Board of Directors plays a vital role in guiding the company. Their responsibilities include strategic oversight, fiduciary duty, risk management, and ensuring leadership accountability to our policyholders. Their dedication, insight, and belief in our shared vision continue to shape the direction of our company.

Anniversaries remind us of where we have been, but they also inspire us to continue building, innovating, and supporting one another. We have achieved a great deal, but the most important chapters of our story are still ahead. By carrying forward the same spirit, teamwork, and dedication that brought us here 125 years ago, we will continue to grow and serve for years to come.

Thank you for your continued support.
